Hello!

I am Arya VarastehNezhad, a recently graduated master’s student in Information Technology at University of Tehran. My academic journey centers on leveraging Artificial Intelligence to solve meaningful real-world challenges at the intersection of human behavior, health, and education.

My master’s thesis focused on Depression and Anxiety Detection through Learners’ Behavior Analysis in Electronic Learning Systems, exploring how behavioral data can reveal psychological well-being indicators and support more adaptive educational systems. Across my research, I have particularly focused on mental health computing, serious games, and human-centered AI, including studies on depression and anxiety prediction through gameplay behavior and emotional analysis of Large Language Models in mental health contexts.

In parallel, my work has expanded into Large Language Models (LLMs), where I have contributed to evaluating their capabilities in news summarization, graduate-level academic assessments, multilingual reasoning, and emotionally sensitive domains. This line of research reflects my broader interest in understanding and improving AI systems for real-world educational and societal applications.

Before my master’s studies, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic), where my undergraduate thesis focused on Dentigerous Lesion Detection from Radiographic Images using Deep Learning, applying advanced AI techniques to medical diagnostics.

My research emphasis on building intelligent systems that combine technical rigor with practical impact across healthcare, education, and interdisciplinary problem-solving.
